Potable Water Treatment

Chlorine Dioxide

Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) and is a very effective and safe biocide for use in potable water applications. Chlorine Dioxide is an oxidising biocide and destroys bacteria through the disruption of protein synthesis.

It is more effective than chlorine, does not react with water like chlorine and does not continue to react with bacterial cell contents after the bacteria has been destroyed.

It is important not to confuse Chlorine Dioxide with chlorine based products as they are not the same and act in a different way.

Chlorine dioxide can be easily generated on site and dosed into a water system continuously for control of biofilm and planktonic bacteria. It hass proven efficacy against Legionella and is in fact the only truly recognised biocide by the ACOP (L8) guidelines for Legionella control.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is a highly effective oxidising liquid product that can be used to treat potable water. It is more effective than chlorine and chlorine dioxide and breaks down within the system to form oxygen and water thus producing no harmful by-products.

It is extremely effective at removing biofilm from a system and can also be used to remove taste and odour.

It is easy to dose as a single shot liquid or through a continual dosing regime.
